About HWT

The Health and Wellbeing Trust is a charity founded in 2007 to harness and promote the power of the integrative health movement to improve public health, wellbeing and personal potential. In September 2009 the charity opened the British College of Integrative Medicine offering a university accredited Diploma in the Study of Integrative Medicine in collaboration with Buckingham University and Professor Karol Sikora. The first graduates were presented to HRH the Prince of Wales in 2012. The charity is exploring new academic partnerships for this Diploma, which is aimed at providing a comprehensive study of the theory and evidence for Integrative Healthcare for doctors, nurses and other graduate healthcare professionals.

The Health & Wellbeing Trust is currently offering five Health Creation Training modules in academic collaboration with Bath Spa University within their Professional Masters Programme (Mentoring and Coaching Award). The modules comprise both study and vocational training elements and the optional academic programme at Bath Spa University can be taken at postgraduate Level 7, or undergraduate Level 6 depending on our trainees previous academic study.

Further aims of the charity include:

•  Provision of information and research evidence to the public regarding the effective use of complementary therapies and self-help approaches – see Evidence
•  Provision of bursary funding to enable teachers, nurses and patients in financial difficulty to access support, self-help, holistic therapies and treatments
•  Provision of bursary funding to enable those of limited financial means to study Integrative Healthcare approaches

Fundraising Goals

Each year the HWT aims to enable 500 patients and 20 students to experience therapies and courses they would not otherwise be able to access.

To do this our fund raising target is £50,000. Can you help us to fundraise? Can you help us by donating to our charity? It means everything in the world to be able to offer support to those who are ill and desperately needing help and support, and also to be able to empower those wishing to study the healing arts alongside the healing sciences of medicine.
